dealing with a cliff top incident. Coastguard Cliff Teams and
Coastguard Helicopter were also in attendance and one individual was
helped to safety by the Police.

to safety by a local fishing vessel.

Lifeboat launched to assist cliff-top teams in locating a casualty who
had fallen off High Peak. Spotlights, white parachute flares and voice
communications were used to locate the casualty who was winched to
safety by Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 106.

difficulty near Budleigh Salterton. Upon arrival the crew noted that
the swimmer was ashore, safe and well.

Whilst on Sunday
training Sidmouth Lifeboat was tasked by Portland Coastguard to assist
a motor yacht taking on water. ILB picked up the salvage pump from the
boathouse and used the pump to decant the stricken vessel. The vessel
was then towed to Exmouth dock, where the casualty vessel was handed
over to Exmouth Lifeboat to complete it's journey. Sidmouth ILB stood
down and returned to training.

Lifeboat and Exmouth Coastguard team were tasked by Portland
Coastguard to assist in a search for a Spear Fisherman thought to be
swept out to sea at Budleigh Salterton. The Spear Fisherman was
reported safe and well but on the East side of the River Otter mouth.
ILB stood down prior to launch.

Lifeboat was tasked by Portland Coastguard to search for a 12ft RIB
with 2 persons on board thought to be out of fuel and drifting SE of
Budleigh Salterton. A coordinated search was organised with Exmouth
Lifeboat and the casualty vessel was located 3.2 nm ESE of Budleigh
Salterton. The crew were transferred safe and well back to Budleigh
Salterton by Exmouth Lifeboat.

Lifeboat was tasked by Portland Coastguard to search for a speedboat
with 1 person on board thought to be drifting SE of Budleigh Salterton.
The vessel was located on rocks and taking in water. Due to rocks and
sea conditions the lifeboat could only approach to with 20m of the
stricken vessel. A crewman entered the water on a swimming line and
recovered the skipper to the Lifeboat. The skipper was then returned
to his family on Budleigh beach. The Lifeboat then returned and made
several attempts to recover the vessel, but to no avail.

4 persons on board broken down in Ladram bay. The vessel was towed
back to Teignmouth, put on a pontoon.

drifting offshore 1nm SE of Sidmouth. The vessel and crew were safe

Lifeboat was tasked to assist the Ambulance Service in the recovery of
a casualty from Jacobs Ladder Beach. Unfortunately the casualty did
not respond to Paramedic CPR and was sadly declared deceased at the
scene. Sidmouth Lifeboat recovered the casualty to the Boathouse on
behalf of the Police and Coroner.

Lifeboat was tasked by Portland Coastguard to assist an outboard
powered Mirror dinghy, with no sails or mast, which had broken down
near Branscombe. The vessel was sighted approximately 1.5nm offshore
and drifting in strong offshore winds. The 2 casualties were found
without lifejackets, flares or a VHF radio, taken on board Sidmouth
Lifeboat and returned to Port Royal beach along with their vessel.

Lifeboat was tasked by Portland Coastguard to assist a 34ft yacht in
trouble in heavy seas approximately 7nm south of Sidmouth. The yacht
was taken in tow towards Lyme Regis (at the request of HM Coastguard).
The vessel was handed over to Lyme Regis ILB for the remainder of the
tow to Lyme Regis.

11, 12 and 13 who were stranded by the tide on the rock islands at
Sidmouth. The 3 children were taken aboard the lifeboat and returned
safely to their parents on Clifton Beach.

female missing from the Seaton area since 07:00hrs. The lifeboat
completed 2 close inshore searches between Beer Head and the mouth of
the River Axe. The missing person was located safe and well on Beer
High Street by Beer Coastguard.

During routine
training Sidmouth Lifeboat was tasked by Portland Coastguard to search
for an 80 year old couple and their daughter reported as lost or
possibly cut off by the tide at Weston Beach. The lifeboat conducted a
close inshore search between Hook Ebb and Branscombe Ebb, putting a
crewman ashore to talk to beach users. With no confirmed sightings and
a lack of light the lifeboat was stood down. Coastguard teams
continued the search inland.

Ladder Beach and Ladram Bay for 2 young children blown offshore in a
dinghy. Sidmouth
Lifeboat conducted a close inshore search between Jacobs Ladder and
Ladram and quickly located the casualties half a mile offshore. The
children were recovered safe and well to their grandparents on
Jacobs
Ladder
Beach
and the lifeboat was stood down.

Coastguard, to search for one Laser dinghy and one catamaran in
trouble south of Sherborne Rocks (east of Branscombe). Boats crewed by
a son and father respectively.
Boats
were located one mile south of Branscombe.
The Laser had capsized and was holed (sinking). Crew confirmed
that no-one else was in trouble, took the boy on board towed the Laser
to
Beer
Beach
, where the boy was reunited with his mother, safe and well.
Lifeboat returned to escort the father and his catamaran to Beer
Beach
.

fishing boat drifting half a mile south of Sidmouth. Coastguard was
concerned that crew had been lost overboard.
Lifeboat
arrived on scene and established that engine was down and no crew in
the vicinity. Coastguard confirmed that a 999 call had been received
from a
Ladram
Bay
fisherman to report a boat missing from
Ladram
Bay
Beach
.Crew confirmed that the fuel supply was disconnected and completed a
tow to
Ladram
Bay
where the boat was safely put ashore and winched up the beach to
safety. Owner present.

An
extensive 3 hour close inshore search was conducted between the River
Sid and Seaton seafront, along with Lyme Regis Lifeboat. Nothing
found.

Lifeboat was launched at the request of Portland Coastguard, to search
for a Spaniel which was believed to have gone over the cliff between
Ladram Bay and High Peak. A
crewman was put ashore at Big Picket, to walk the shoreline towards
Sandy Cove while the Lifeboat conducted a close inshore search.
The dog was found on the shore at the eastern end of Sandy Cove.
Sadly it had not survived the fall.
It was taken aboard the lifeboat and returned to the owners, in
company with Coastguard Officers, at Ladram Bay
