Lifeboat Recovered on Sidmouth Beach

Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat was contacted by Beer Coastguard Rescue Team to assist with a container ship lifeboat that had washed off a vessel four days ago and come ashore on Sidmouth Beach.

With the evening tide posing a real risk of the lifeboat being broken up over night, a decision was made to recover and secure it above the tide line.

Our crew assisted using our winch tractor to move the vessel to a safe and accessible location at the Clifton slipway.
