As well as managing the shop, taking sales and donations, you will be talking to visitors about our organisation, helping spread the work of our independent status and the work we do. Our shifts are a maximum of 3.5hrs. The role is for the reserve team, covering shifts when available. Full description of role can be found in the application form – click here to download.
Counter role
We have two vacancies to join the counting team. Counters work in pairs to count and bank the charity takings and donations. This is not a public facing role. Full description of role can be found in the application form – click here to download.
What is it like to volunteer at Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat?
I first volunteered as a member of Sidmouth Independent lifeboat Support Team ten years ago and each week I really look forward to starting my afternoon shift! The rewarding Support Team role is a good way to get involved in the local community, make new friends and always have a great and enjoyable time.
Every shift brings a different experience. Working in the shop enables you to encounter so many
different people who love to share their personal stories and experiences with you. It is an honour to be able to raise public awareness and understanding of Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat, its operations, its history and its call outs.Where else in Sidmouth can you experience such a wonderful view and engage with so many people? It is a real privilege to be part of such a dedicated and committed team of volunteers.
– Chris Young, Trustee and Support Team Leader
