Time tasked: 21:05

Callout #: 17

Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat was paged at 21:05 after a 4×4 vehicle had been dragged into the sea from the Eastern end of the Esplanade.

Weather conditions were Force 10 winds with large waves breaking across the road.

Also in attendance were HM Coastguard, Police and Fire and Rescue services.

It was confirmed that the occupants of the vehicle had managed to get out safely. With no possibility of recovering the vehicle at that time due to sea conditions, all responders were stood down at 22:15.

The vehicle was last seen at 07:00 this morning (2nd Nov) and was soon afterwards dragged out to sea by the breaking swell.
